What a year.
So many losses, so many gains. And once again, very few new blog posts! 😅 With so many things going on in my life, I wondered if I should even continue my blog... but then I met a new friend (who goes by DaShadow) and ended up showing my blog to him. For the first time, I felt as if I had found someone who truly appreciated what I put together on my blog. He was fascinated by its uniqueness and by the way I wrote, forming a different perspective on the world. Thanks to him, I felt inspired and encouraged to continue writing posts from time to time. I have no idea if you are reading this, DaShadow, but if you are, thank you.

For this post, I decided to put together some of the major events from last year that stood out to me, both good (the triumphs), bad (the troubles), and in between (the trials).

The Troubles, Trials, and Triumphs of 2025

Triumph: I am still an Admin for Yogurt Documentaries and a Community Helper for Checho's Deltarune Roleplay. I attempted to apply to be a Moderator on other servers and games, but to no avail.

Trouble: If you remember from last year's Blogiversary Post, I mentioned being selected to voice-act two roles in a small Warrior Cats fan series. Unfortunately, it got cancelled before it actually began. 🐈

Trial: My family and I decided to look into getting a second horse as a companion for Apollonia, one I could call my own.🐴

Triumph: My sisters and I finally got our ears pierced, something we've wanted to do since we were little kids. 💎

Trouble: When going out to meet and test-ride a horse I was interested in buying, I had a serious fall that landed me in the emergency room. Luckily, I only had a compressional fracture in my lower spine. But I ended up with a fear of riding horses, and no longer being able to get a horse of my own. 🐎

Trouble: My dad lost his job not long after. 🪲

Triumph?/Trial?: I got into my very first relationship. 😶

Triumph: My sister and I got a pet-sitting job caring for our neighbour's donkeys. 🫏

Trial: My dad was sending in many applications to try to get a new job. We soon realized that moving to a new state or country would be inevitable. ✈️

Triumph: We managed to find good new homes for our pet fish. 🐟

Trouble: We had a rather close encounter with a tornado...

Triumph: My sisters and I got to go on a fun trip to the mountains for the week of my birthday. 🌄

Triumph: I had a little volunteer position for a few months at CSU while my dad did some work there. 🦋

Triumph: I got my first proper job as an Assistant (and later Assistant Director) at a guest ranch in the mountains. 🌲

Triumph: I started learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons with my online friends, one of whom runs her own campaign. 🐉

Triumph: I somehow managed to get my driver's license! 🚗

Triumph: I did my first-ever solo flight (to Texas) to meet my boyfriend in person for the first time. 🛬

Triumph: With some help, I was able to start working through my fear of riding horses until I got back on one (an easy-going palomino gelding named Cooper) and went on a pleasant little trail ride at the guest ranch I worked at.

Trouble: We had to put Tamzin, one of our dogs, down. Yokoshi included some pictures in this post. 💔

Triumph: My boyfriend did his first plane flight to come visit me over the week of Thanksgiving! ✨

Triumph: I was invited to join the Christmas Choir in the town where I worked. I was uncertain whether I'd be able to attend most of the rehearsals and the concert... but I tried, and I did! It was certainly the highlight of my year and a dream come true! 🎶

Trouble: A day or so after the choir concert, shit hit the fan at the place I worked, which ended up in me having some serious mental health issues. That, along with multiple flus and other minor health issues, kept me sick for weeks. I'm only now just starting to get better, both physically and mentally. I decided to leave that job and everything I had worked for to move away to a new place with my family instead. 🥀

Triumph: My dad finally got a new job in Washington, D.C., and left just after Christmas to start. 💸

Trial: My mom, sisters, and I struggled to get the house in order and ready for the market on time. We succeeded in putting our house on the market in early January. After it's sold, we will join our dad in the D.C. area to start a new life. 🏡

As you can see, this year was quite the rollercoaster! The year started off hopeful, then crashed. But several good things happened that helped me to gain a foothold in my life and pull myself back up, and further than I'd been before (mainly thanks to my first job). Then, quite suddenly, everything came crumbling apart again at the end of the year, and I was in a lower place than I had ever been. I couldn't have made it through without the help, love, and support of my family and my closest friends.

As Galatea said in her post Finding Calm in the Middle of Everything, "You don't have to be okay all the time." And "If you’re going through something right now, just know you’re not alone. Take it one step at a time. Breathe. You’re doing better than you think."

No matter how bleak and hopeless your life may feel at times, just hold on. Have patience. Have perseverance. You'll grow stronger in character for having pulled through those difficult times. If I could do it, you can, too.
